R & D Capability

SOFE, with a complete research and development system, has established R&D platforms such as a National Certified Enterprise Technology Center, an Academician and Expert Workstation, a Post-doctoral Research Workstation, a Cementing and Fracturing Equipment Standardization Department of National Drilling and Production Professional Standardization Committee. Moreover, a research and development innovation system, with “One Institute Five Centers” as the research & development and achievement transformation application platform, has been established. Up to now, we have mastered 30 core technologies, and several models of our products have earned“Top Brand Products”​​for China Petroleum and Petrochemical Equipment Manufacturing and Service Industry. As the first batch of SINOPEC Science and Technology Innovation Enterprises, SOFE possesses a talented R&D team who have successively undertaken national key technology projects and been granted multiple national awards such as National Science and Technology Progress Award. Now, our technologies are leading domestic market, and among the top class in the world. We have successfully developed many core equipment and tools such as well-plant type drilling rigs, large-scale fracturing package, special-purpose shale gas drilling bits and tools, drillable composite bridge plugs, and can provide integrated solutions for engineering equipment, drilling and completion tools, down-hole tools and speeding-up tools, drillable bridge plugs and other drillable tools. We have successively made a breakthrough on a batch of bottleneck technologies, providing oil & gas equipment and technology supports for promoting speed, performance and efficiency of exploration and development operations.​​
